YOUNG BANTAMS SECURE HARD-EARNED WIN

City’s under-19s returned to the top of the EFL Youth Alliance North East division table on Tuesday, with a 2-1 victory over Hartlepool United at Blackwell Welfare Park.

Goals from under-16s Lewis Boney - who was making his debut for the under-19s - and a last-minute winner from Harry Ibbitson secured victory for the young Bantams.

As well as Boney, fellow under-16s team-mates George Goodman and Oliver Thompson also made appearances off the bench, in a side with three changes from the weekend.

City’s under-19s held on to secure a narrow victory over top-of-the-table Harrogate Town on Saturday, at the York St John Sports Centre.

Goals from Keke Jeffers and Nathan Tinsdale set the Bantams up with a two-goal lead going into half-time.

The hosts pulled one back through Ollie Nicholson late on, and tried to push for an equaliser, but City stood strong and fought for a hard-earned victory.

Ryan Farrell was pleased with the account his young City side gave, as they valiantly bowed out of the FA Youth Cup with a 3-1 defeat to Chelsea.

The Youth Team's Max Sutton and Anisio Jesus both said it was good to move on from the losses at the start of the season, following Rochdale's 4-0 win over Stockport County on Saturday.

Goals from Paul Kyffin, Bassit Mandey and a double from Jadel Yaduat helped Dale on their way to the emphatic victory over their Greater Manchester rivals, their first league victory of the season.

The Youth Team recorded an emphatic 4-0 victory over Stockport County in the EFL Youth Alliance on Saturday morning.

A brace from Jadel Yaduat, along with goals from Paul Kyffin and Bassit Mandey helped Dale cruise to a comfortable victory in the end.

It was a second win over Stockport this week, after the side beat County on Tuesday in the EFL Youth Alliance cup.
